In addition to the physical strength ultracycling demands enormous mental power being exposed to nature's elements for days. Permanent rain on a classical bike race means three to five hours
humidity, maybe ten hours on a bike marathon - and when it comes to ultracycling it means rain for twenty and more hours - and especially at night. The same for adverse winds. Heat. Cold.
